Student Name: Fewziwe Majikijela
Program: Bonani Work-Readiness Program
Branch: Cape Town
I grew up in a township near Mt. Fletcher in the Eastern Cape. My mother was a teacher and had to support us as my father died when I was young.
My mother paid for the first two years of my university studies and I was lucky to get a bursary so that I could study and get my BTech.
I spent about 8 months looking for a job after graduating and I wasn’t getting taken in by anyone. Eventually my cousin told me about Guarantee Trust, so I called. They told me to come to Cape Town for an interview. So I made the trip there in the hopes that they would accept me.
I was very happy to find that I got the position, and I moved to Cape Town.
The program was an eye-opener in so many ways. First of all, The Study Course was very useful and unique. I had never learned how to use a dictionary, for example, and the importance of it. You don’t learn that in school.
I also really liked the Pastel training and that information has helped me with the work that I do every day. It is very valuable and it enables me to perform well.
I was placed with Mr. Gatz and last year I completed my Articles and I am now a registered CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) Member with the Institute of Internal Auditing of SA.
The Fasset and Guarantee Trust Bonani program is great and I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be where I am today without having done it. Thank you to everyone there.
